The creation of the cosmos. A piece about order evolving out of chaos. This is an enthalpy (as opposed to entropy) piece. The musical influence of minimalist composers ala Philip Glass can be easily heard. A difficult piece to execute due to the rapid arpeggios that occur in the 2nd half of the work.
The piece begins with the statement of the main harmonic theme and progresses with a series of increasing complex variations which lead to an intense climax. Related to the TM in E flat Major on the Awakenings CD.
Another example of absolute music which is a pure joy for the keyboardist to play. Expresses the pure joy of living. The ending has tricky chromatic descending cadances. Related to the Impromptu in D on the Awakenings CD. A gentle lullaby which expresses the serenity and love that a parent has for a young child.
A very gentle piece which expresses the feelings we have for those close to
In 1984 I spent a semester at Harvard and on many occasions rode the "T" from Cambridge to downtown. The clickity-clack of the wheels inspired this meditative piece as I sat in the tram and watched the underground whiz by.
Dedicated to my music partner of many years, Lenna Reid. The piece feels and sounds exotic which embodies qualities which I associate with her.
Dedicated to Philip Reid (Lenna and Warren's first-born) who as a young child, The title piece was inspired by images created by photographer Mark Sadan. It is a cosmic inner journey which explores the depths of our innermost emotions, hopes and fears. Fasten your seatbelt!! (Related to Awakenings )
